But before the layout questions, some nostalgia.
1. What remnants of wotmania did you save? If you chose not to save anything, what was your thinking on the matter?
I saved a couple of NBs from CrazedWeasel and my scratchpad info. I didn't really care about the rest.
2. Did you stick around for the closing?
Nope. Had work. Didn't really see the point either.
3. How did you feel about the whole thing - and about the subsequent transition?
I love the new site, I think it should go well. Was a bit sad when Mike said he was closing wotmania but these things happen. Wish he'd been able to keep his promises re saving info etc but them's the breaks. Hate, however, that wotmania redirects to Dragonmount with only the most fleeting and frankly offputting comment about this place.
4. Name changes are obvious, but are you intending to do anything differently in terms of site activity here? (Frequenting more boards, posting more thoughtfully [hahaha, I crack myself up]).
I'll be posting far more on the SF/F MB and less on the Community one.
5. Is there anything you miss about wotmania so far? Any RAFO-related change that really pleases you?
I miss the Scratchpad, although that will come in due course. I love all the nifty new functionality Ben has added and adore, of course, that I am an admin.
6. What's your pick for our collective identity? (Rafolites, Rafonauts...)
Rafonauts. It's great.
Now onto issues of layout.
7. What colors do you currently use?
Teal.
8. What color palettes would you like to see?
Am happy with what we have.
9. What font do you use? (Did you know you can customize that? ) What fonts would you like added?
I use Georgia. It is the best. Don't need anything else.
10. You prefer navigation bars that are:
A) On the left
B) On the right, or
C) Across the top
A) On the left
B) On the right, or
C) Across the top
C. Although at the left isn't bad.
11. Do you like the current set-up, where you have to click to see the options, or did you prefer the old wotmania version, where a mouse-over would cause the menus to drop down?
Eh, not bothered either way.
12. Do you like all of the icons? Would you like to see more graphics? If so, what kind?
I'd like to have the little pictures that sat at the top right hand side. Perhaps we can get people to draw some more, from all kinds of books, and have a nice collection.
13. Do you like the current logo? If not, what would you like to see?
I like it. It's clean and neat and pretty.
Miscellany
15. Do you think it is possible for an established politician to undergo a major ideological shift? That is, a genuine one, not one for political gain.
I do, yes, but it's something that would take a lot of time or be connected to a dramatic event in that politician's life.
16. What is your favorite way to experience nostalgia?
I like looking a photos, or just reminiscing with a bunch of friends.
17. Are you content with your given name & surname? If not, how come? What would you change it to if you could?
I am, yes. I did consider for a while keeping my maiden name as part of my name (like a second middle name). Can still change that if I wish. After all, the health service has both, for some bizarre reason.
18. Are you good with time management? If yes, any advice?
I am. I make priorities and work my way through them, and I also check my watch every 5 minutes or so. I'm completely lost without my watch.
19. What was the first piece of genuine "literature" that you remember appreciating?
Probably A Room With A View by EM Forster. It was a birthday present when I turned 12 and I love it.
20. Are you on friendly terms with your neighbors? (Apartment neighbors count too.) If so, how did you get that way?
Er. No. I don't talk to people.
21. When you hang out with people, do you have the most fun on your own turf (in your apartment or home), at their place(s), or in a neutral spot, like a pub or a mall?
Depends on what mood I'm in. Most often I prefer being at home because I'm comfortable there.
22. If you could invite a foreign/distant friend to visit your city/town at any season or time of year, which would you pick as ideal?
Probably May or June. Weather's decent, kids are still at school, and the castle looks amazing.
2-. Do you participate in any community-ish events? (Local markets, library book clubs, church events, etc.) Which ones?
I go to church most Sundays, sometimes manage to attend our Ladies Group, and will go to most of the other events the church has, if I'm around.
Oh, that's my favorite number. Best stop here. I censored it for Amy's sake.
LOL. Nice.
