Cataloging Favorite Posts on Unused Right Side...

Could it be possible to select certain posts as favored, and then have a bank of posts on the right side of the board(s), perhaps with a one or two line preview with title, date, and author?
Favourite post functionality is in the pipeline.

I have plans for the right hand side of the messageboard, so I'm unlikely to put favourites there; a favourites page will have to do.
