but that was a nice interview. It made me want to read the Culture novels. Are these machines really benevolent? I cannot imagine how that would have been written without feeling sinister in some way or other.
And I really need to get my hands on Cloud Atlas. It has been recommended to me by virtually everyone.

Consider Phlebas is wonderful. It's the only Culture novel I've read so far, though.
