EDIT: Also Sanderson has said one of his future Mistborn novels take place in Space, so the people from different planents probably will meet each other.
I have no idea how to react to this.
So the first MISTBORN trilogy is set in Medieval-tech times, the second will be set in a modern or near-modern-tech period and the third will be set in a time period with space travel.
Interesting idea, given how allergic fantasy writers are to having technological development in their worlds and shy away even from gunpowder-based settings.
