I've read some good ones already this year. The Tamir trilogy by Lynn Flewelling was probably my favorite. Starts with The Bone Doll's Twin. Morally ambiguous and heartbreaking in some places, but ultimately uplifting.

I think I've read that. I've definitely read some Flewelling, but it was so many years ago that I've completely forgotten about it.
