I started my re-read interspersed with Gibbon (I'm on Volume V now and starting to hate him for his anti-Byzantine statements; his blatantly racist statements are at times disarming, too - "A black or a parrot might be taught to repeat the words of the Chalcedonian or Monophysite creed" ).
You know me, how I can finish a book (or five) in a day if I have the time and the desire. I have the time now and the desire won't be too far off, I suspect
