...is that nearly any reader will forget things, lose track of the narrative and/or lose the feel of the story if breaks are taken in between books. That's why I read it all at once - I had read halfway through Volume II the way you read it and realized when I came back after a long break that I had totally lost track of the story. I started over, from page one, and am now where I am.
