Books, plays, poems, songs (can be), short stories. They're all literature. Graphic novels are too, I think.
Films are not because the dialogue is not the most important thing. Films are a different art form.
Video games are not for the same reason.
Newspapers and non-fiction are not literature because they're not about creativity. They're about truth (or are supposed to be ).
