The Yeard has spawned a horrible series of books, but the TV series based on them is good. Yes, I am coming out of the closet as a Legend of the Seeker fan. The TV series is one of my favorites at this point. In fact, Nicholas (Sheila's son) bought me season 1 for christmas. He likes it too.

Nicholas is an avid reader, and so is Sheila. So far I haven't said much about the books except when the TV series deviates a lot from the books. I like that we are all sharing something, but it's only a matter of time before they want to start reading the books. Should I warn them?

I think it's a rare thing for the TV adaptation to be so much better than the books. Should I let them pick up the books and be dissapointed and/or horrified, or should I throw them out like I should have years ago? (the books, I mean). What would you do?
