It will increase the number of books available

Right now a lot of good books go unpublished because some publisher wasn't willing tot take the risk with the book. With e-books publishers will be able to publish books as e-books only for little cost which will encourage them to take more chances. Paperless books have also made it much easier to self publish. There are some really good authors out there who got started by distributing free e-books and audio books on line.
E-books will increase your choices not decrease them.
There will always be paper books because people love them. There is enough room out there for both paper books and electronic books.

To each his own. I come away with the opposite reaction and like Amazon even more.

I think his complaint is that he feels Amazon is using public opinion to pressure suppliers.

Is it though - Amazon's stock is way down today. Seems the tactic failed *NM*

Then again, it's half the price of a print version, for essentially the same product / experience.
