They are trying to keep prices down and really break the market open with affordable ebooks that of course can be used on their ereaders in their format. I tend to think that Amazon realizes that people aren't going to go en masse with 12 to 14 dollar ebooks. Not when I (and others) can skip spending the money on an ereader and get the hardcover at Borders for 2 to 4 dollars more.

By "sticking it" to macMillan at least for a short while they have at least brought the issue to the news and the public. Let the people decide, is MacMillan being ridiculous and greedy or is amazon in the wrong. I side with Amazon. Let each man decide for himself.
