I don't see the book has the level of depth that would make any discussion regarding the relationship between Dantés and Faria worthwhile. It's my right. Find someone else to discuss that point with.


You know what, I almost can't be bothered.
All through this, whenever I say something, I am met with the fact that what I am saying cannot possibly be interesting or right because the book is shit and therefore cannot have anything interesting to say. The whole argument is tautological: it is shit because it says nothing and it cannot possibly say anything because it is shit. I am done for the day.

I find it draining. I spend my whole day every day breaking literary theory and analysis down to its simplest components in order to explore it fully. Having to do that here as well is exhausting. Especially when I have to defend against aggressve attacks on the most basic parts of it along the way.

Why do you spend your day doing that if you find it exhausting? And why is there a need to break down analysis to its simplest components in the first place?
