Who is your favourite character?
Did you dislike any of them?
Do you think they're well written?
Does anyone seem particularly believable, or particularly unbelievable?

I think that Arutha was always my favorite character. Lyam and Martin were also interesting to me.
I wasn't fond of Macros. I don't remember how his role evolved in the future books. It seems like my opinion of him changed later but for now I am a little sour.
Ummm. Believable? Borric's children were a little more believable for me. Or at least they were people I could relate to.
As for others that were less believable...I was perfectly willing to not nit-pick. I just wanted to have fun. I like to see the best in people and give them the benefit of the doubt and Feist seems to feel that way about his characters. Did that make any sense?
Magician by Raymond E Feist: Book Club now open.

The Empire series is better than Feist by himself, IMO.

in that case, you should be wary of the most beautifully written fantasy series of all time

Oh, I loved that series! At least after the first hundred pages or so. That didn't qualify as dark

I'm pretty sure that that criticism can be levelled at many 'popular' genre writers/series.
