A nice copy came in the mail - honestly, the GRRM story probably interests me the least. I've given up on ASOIF until the whole thing is published. It sounds as if this story doesn't really stand far enough apart from the series for me to enjoy overly much.
Though it'll be a while before I get to this one - I simply have too many other good books to read first.

Almost every story I've read so far (10) have been either very solid or very damn good. Just read the Peter Beagle story, "Dirae," as that's just over 20 pages long and I think gives a good hint at just how diversely Martin and Dozois and the authors they selected view "warriors."
As for the Dunk and Egg story, it is pretty much as Wert says, it's set in Westeros' past by 3 generations and the story is very self-contained and enjoyable on the whole. I think it's rather silly not to read it just because you don't want to read anything related to SOIAF until that is done, but hey, choices and decisions vary. But do read the other stories at least, perhaps one a day.
