Not really. It was a 5-year wait between GotM coming out in the UK and USA.

Okay, so both amazon.ca and chapters.ca have a listing for DoD that was supposed to be released on September 1st. However, the listing on both websites has no cover image, and either says "available for pre-order" or "temporarily unavailable to order new." And, upon careful examination, they're both listed as published by Tor.
The main listings on both sites have a Jan. 26th, 2010 release date. Amazon says it's Bantam, Chapters says it's Transworld.
Anyone know what the deal is? I know the UK usually gets them first (though that's always struck me as odd, since Erikson actually lives in Canada), but it's not usually a six-month difference...?
So. Yeah. Not lookin' to wait four months here. Grr.

I think it is about publishing deals, presumably Bantam Press has some exclusive right to publish first. I can't see any other reason.
Dust of Dreams not out in Canada 'til January?

For some reason, the shift has increased as the books come out.

I think Canada adapts to the US, rather than the UK, in most cases. *NM*
