The Book of Lost Things was excellent! I loved the twisted versions of fairy tales in it (score one for judging a book by its cool designy cover!) After that, I read the Last Unicorn (Peter S. Beagle), another fairy tale sort of story that I bought for Alicia and ended up loving when I read it myself.
I also read John Scalzi's "Agent to the Stars" (the online version) which I enjoyed. It had a very different take on the idea of alien contact that I found very amusing.
At the moment, I'm reading Ken Scholes' "Canticle", thanks to THE GIVEAWAY (all capitals of course) The first third of the book is great, and I'm hoping there's plenty more development for Neb and Isaak!
