- I think the book's a lot more enjoyable when a) you don't have to wait 5 years for it and b) you know half the characters aren't gonna be in it. I also think that while the Greyjoy/Dorne plotlines are both fairly good, they'd be a lot better if they'd had one overriding POV character. The way it was turned out a bit messy.
Agreed. The Greyjoy chapters could have been done all through Victarion with no need of another POV. However, I can see why GRRM went down this route as he needed a Victarion POV for when Euron sends him after Daenerys, whilst he needs an Asha POV for ADWD. However, he could have left Asha for the next book, as he didn't need her chapters just yet, and he didn't need Aeron's at all.
Dorne could have been done wholly through Arianne's POV. Areo and Arys were not necessary.
- Only three chapters of Arya? And you blind her with over 100 pages left and then never return?! Bad author! No cookies for author!
Arya is in ADWD, so not too long a wait (touch wood) before her next appearance and the resolution of that (and a few other AFFC) cliffhangers. You won't be left hanging for a further x number of years before Book 6 shows up to resolve the Book 4 cliffhangers.

I'm pretty sure Brienne shouted "Sansa"

Couldn't "Kingslayer" or "Jaime" (as in going after him) have saved her too? *NM*

Wikipedia's entry on Brienne indicates "Arya" is a good candidate

Exactly, and Cat was initially perfectly content to let her go if she agreed to kill Jaime.
