I would much prefer to have actual books.
I can understand preferring real books to electronic ones, and I can understand hating the DRM, but why, exactly, is the Kindle garbage?
It lets you store massive amounts of books in something you can easily stash wherever you want, there's no strain on your eyes in reading it, the battery lasts forever in between charges, and except for the keyboard, it has a pretty minimalist design. I'm failing to understand where, in all of that, the Kindle becomes garbage.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, Kindle books are a cheaper than paper books (I'm not even going to mention the price of hardcovers, that'd be too easy). And on top of that, you get dozens of free books a month, in whatever genre you want. And you don't have to return them to the library, they're yours to keep.
I haven't had any problems with mine. I'm loving it more every day.

Interesting marketing move. I think one of the biggest things people hold out on concerning ebooks..

Agreed. I've found myself very pleasantly surprised; I often forget I'm using an ereader.

I'll be interested when they stop the idiocy that is Kindle-only books. *NM*
