The Chandrian sitting at the parents' fire could have been sooo much cooler (I still liked it), but instead of the C having that aloof deepness of something like a Ring Wraith, the petty "I'm evil so I must kill you because you exist in my presence and it's fun, but oops, I can't because Big Baddie has some honor" angle popped up.
Or so I think, given that I currently don't have my book.
Another favorite was when he tried to somehow call the air from himself and almost asphyxiated.

It's almost as if the author decided there needed to be a little adventure to move the story along.

The book has been compared with Harry Potter. Do you think this is fair? Why/why not? *NM*

I really couldn't say whether it was fair. Seems a weird judgement to me.

I will have to admit that you guys are right about the friends and Ambrose. It was...forced.
