It appeared that nothing happened, there was no giant conflict, the character wasn't moving toward anything, and very little was wrapped up at the end.
Honestly, I found my self liking the future Kvothe scenes more than the story itself.
It wasn't terrible though and I'll probably get number two in paperback.
