I not only admit to reading the Sookie Stackhouse books, but liking them as well. About four weeks ago I picked up the first of the series. This morning I finished the most recent. Nine books and roughly 3,000 pages have kept me wondering what will happen next.
Unlike another popular vampire saga *cough*Twilight*cough*, nobody is perfect, I don't know who Sookie will end up with, characters change and grow, major characters die, there's a sprinkling of sex, and vampires don't sparkle.
The books are fairly quick to read. I'd say they are light fun, but there is too much death and dismemberment for that.
I have yet to see any of the HBO series True Blood (which is based on this series of books). I've heard mixed reviews. Some have been upset by what was changed from the book forms. Others think there is a bit too much staring at Anna Paquin's breasts.
So any Sookie fans?
