Kvothe, Erlodin, Bast, Chronicler, Denna, Ambrose etc.

I really like most of the characters (or dislike as appropriate) but I did find a few quite annoying.

Denna really bugs me - she really makes me think of Summer from (500) Days of Summer, who I didn't like very much. I'm sure it's partly a thing of me finding annoying a girl who all the boys notice just because she's pretty and ignore the fact that she's a bitch a lot of the time :P I liked it when there seemed to be a bit more to her with her story not quite fitting when she saw her patron at the wedding - I'd like to see more to that, as it's actually interesting rather than just 'oh look isn't she amazing *swoon*'.

The whole thing with Ambrose is a bit dull, as with the teacher dude Kvothe doesn't get on with. It felt a bit like they were made to hate Kvothe and try and bring him down because the main guy in the story needs enemies. Just seems a bit unrealistic that obviously smart people - they wouldn't be in the University if they weren't - would be so consumed by trying to damage one guy as much as possible when I'm sure there are plenty of arrogant idiots they happen upon in their lives.

The library guy (I really need to work on remembering names :P) seemed much more balanced and he was nice some of the time, and indifferent, then furious and unrelenting when such a heinous crime was committed by Kvothe...his anger etc was actually justified rather than just a grudge that developed pretty much on sight. Seems much more like how someone with such a powerful position would behave towards a first year.

Ramble ramble...
