Hamilton IS Space Opera, as far as I'm concerned imlad Send a noteboard - 16/11/2009 11:56:02 PM
His book Pandora's Star opened me back up to reading space opera. Since I first started reading him in 2005 when I found Judas Unchained on the new book shelf at the library (never having heard of him before) I think I've read everything of his published in the States that I can; with only exceptions being his young adult "Web series" and Confederation Handbook which is sitting on my shelf right now, and all the short fiction listed on his wikipedia page.

I just can't get enough of his stuff. I'm seriously thinking of re-reading the Commonwealth stuff (all previous 4 books) in "preparation" for The Evolutionary Void (I don't really need to read them again to remember whats happening, I just love them so much--probably as much as I loved Tolkien when I was young).

I've checked out some of the other British SO writers, especially Iain M. Banks, but none of them catch me as fully as Hamilton.

I hope he lives a long long life, and keeps writing up until a few days after they bury him.

I've never read any of his novels that I didn't enjoy. I mean, I've only read these 6 (or however many it was supposed to be) and the 5 (so far) Commonwealth novels, but I very much enjoyed them all. Not Neutronium Alchemist as much as the Commonwealth ones, but still, they were great.
Death to the Regressives of the GOP and the TeaParty. No mercy for Conservatives. Burn them all at the stake for the hateful satanists they are.
