There are several teenagers that work at my store (I'm the office manager). One of them is a 19 or 20-yo guy who happens to read a lot of the same types of books I do, so he loves discussing WoT with me,among others.

I was working away in the office this past Sunday, when all of a sudden the door flies open. Here is the conversation we had:

HIM: I have bad news.
ME: What is it?!
HIM: I just found out that the end of the Wheel of Time is gonna be split into, like, three books.
ME: *looong pause* Um, yeah.
HIM: You knew that already?!
ME: Um, yessss. That was news a year ago; where have you been? In fact, pretty sure I told you that months ago.
HIM: I don't remember that; I just found out. Well, hey, the next book is coming out, like, really soon.
ME: Nooo, it's already out.
HIM: It is?!
ME: Yes, it came out on Tuesday the 27th.
HIM: Awww MAN! How did I not know that? How did YOU know that?
ME: Couple ways, actually. First, a little thing called the internet. Second, dude, I've been reading this series for your ENTIRE LIFETIME. I know what's up, believe me.
HIM (completely let down because his "news" was worthless): Well I guess I'll have to go buy that book, then, since it's out.
ME: Yeah, guess so.

I managed not to laugh until he'd left and gone back up front, but the whole exchange struck me as completely funny. The youngsters always think they know everything, then get totally deflated when it turns out I'm actually hip to what's up. HA!
