Elantris is definitely Sanderson's weakest book. I found the book to be tepid at best.I found the dialogue a little bit stilted. The plot was okay and it certainly was a novel idea. Sanderson seemed to be someone with a lot of potential but I think he really needs to improve his writing before he could be considered among the better authors of today. I don't think he is better than the likes of Lynch or Abercrombie.
Mistborn is much better. I really liked it but I still consider his writing skills a little weak in comparison to others. I am really hoping that writing TGS will improve his writing to a degree that I won't find reading TGS jarring.
