Typically I detest fantasy that includes dragons. DON'T ask me why, as it's virtually inexplicable even to me. I just never liked a damn thing I picked up that had dragons as a central theme (Anne McCaffrey, I'm especially talking to YOU, ma'am). I also don't typically much care for Napoleonic-era settings. Odd, I know. The oddest of all, though, COMBINE dragons and an early 19th century period setting and BOOM. I'm not only interested, I read all four books back-to-back in less than a week. I keep meaning to pick up "Victory of Eagles" but I always forget when I'm out and about.
