Before RAFO goes bye-bye. Rules.....just looking for sci-fi or history (non-fiction) choices.
Big thanks!
I'm still on an indefinite hiatus from reading this year (seriously, a month and a half without feeling the urge to even read 10 pages. Shocking, I know), but if you happen to like works that take "real life" situations and manage to make them into something approaching the grandness of some of the 19th century masters without the language being as archaic, then perhaps you could try Carlos Ruiz Zafón's Cemetery of Lost Books series that just concluded (at least in Spanish; the final volume will be translated later this year, I think).
And have you read any of Walter Moers' works? Too many excellent ones to name just one or even two there. Also translated fiction (from German), in case that matters or not. Very fantastical tales.
If you ever wanted to read an anthology of SF and read a flash fiction that I translated, then you could read Ann and Jeff VanderMeer's The Big Book of Science Fiction that was published last year.
Sorry that I was late in responding, but at least I beat the shutdown by two weeks, right?
Je suis méchant.
