I have read the entire series and I like them quite a lot. When the premise of the story is Dragons + Napoleonic Wars, you know that it's going to be a fun ride. Temeraire is quite impressive considering it's Naomi Novik's debut novel. I think she has the potential to become very good.
IMO, The writing gets better as the books progress, which is quite a good thing. She also deals with issues (in the future books) you might not really expect to be in what is supposed to be a light read.
