So I couldn't comment. The thing with the Lupin stories I did read, which was mostly the short stories in the original book and then La Demoiselle aux Yeux Verts, is that they are clever enough and not badly written, but endlessly repetitive - Lupin is always whoever you least expect him to be, romancing the girl and then moving on to the next.
