I didn't read as much in 2014 as I have in years past (spent much more time writing), but there were still some books I enjoyed a great deal.
1) Words of Radiance - Sanderson
2) The Emperor's Blades - Brian Staveley (really enjoyed this one; great debut novel)
3) Ancillary Justice - Ann Leckie
4) A Dark and Hungry God Arises - Stephen R. Donaldson (in fact, I might just put the whole Gap Cycle here. Really dark, brutal, but REALLY good)
5) Shadow of the Torturer - Gene Wolfe
