View original postTwenty-seven New Zealand and American authors delve into the strange, the unexpected, and the downright terrifying things that kids say in this collection of all-new flash fiction. From the mouths of babes come 37 stories, from the haunting to the hilarious to the horrific.

View original postI came across this one while looking for new horror. I had no familiarity with the editors or authors, but was interested in the concept and the shortness of the stories, so I gave it a shot. Plus, bonus for proceeds going to charity.

View original postThe book was fun. It is pretty much what it says, short stories in the horror genre based on those odd and sometimes just plain weird things kids say, do or believe.

View original postSome stories were better than others but I don't think there were any I didn't like. About half a dozen were actually really clever and interesting, the rest were pretty much just ok, but I didn't absolutely love them.

View original postIf you like the horror genre and want a quick read (the book is about 150 pages) then this is a pretty good introduction to some lesser well known names in the genre. I plan to go back through and look up the authors from the stories I really liked and see what else they have produced.

View original postAlso, sometimes with horror you never quite know what you are going to get as far as gore factor, sexual oddity, etc. This book doesn't really have any gore or sex in it, it is pretty mild in terms of shock value - the stories are more clever takes on stuff kids believe when they are young.

what would be similar, in popular movie terms ?
