Or not by people whose opinion I take seriously, anyway - sure, he's bad, but who seriously claims otherwise? If anything, the ridiculous hype maybe made people even a little harsher on him than he deserved - or at least, caused people to spend time bashing him when they otherwise wouldn't have bothered.
