There are Mormon writers that aren't sunny and happy. Apparently they have horror writers (true horror writers, not just awful writers like Stephanie Meyer). However, I have yet to see the "significant" Mormon writer, because they tend to write more superficial works.

I mentioned to my friend that some genre writers can also be literary, but none of them are Mormon. I think it's because Mormons spend a lot of time reading bad fiction (the Book of Mormon).

Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.
