I reread it every year and a half or so and I love it every time. Sanderson has a habit of keeping it slow for 2/3 of the book then sprinting toward the end at break neck speed for the last 1/3. I rather enjoy this, but I can understand if other people don't enjoy it as much.
I say it's my favorite (somewhat) completed series because he currently plans a trilogy of trilogies for the Mistborn world. That number has been moved up with the Wax and Wayne novellas he has written/plans to write. As was mentioned above the first book is quite self contained so if you don't enjoy it you still get a good payoff at the end. The final chapters of the last book are, in my opinion, jaw droppingly wonderful and surprising.
I'm eagerly looking forward to future books in this series.
Enjoy the read.
Spock: I find that remark…insulting.
