There's still an industry for vinyl. Live theatre still exists. People still paint. Technology can reduce a market but not eliminate it. There is even less of a reason to transfer from books to ebooks than other art forms - books are not as fragile as vinyl or canvas, and people are sentimental about them. Certain books that are only valuable for their utility - such as IRS manuals, instructions, legal codices or the like - are already gone, but books that are read for entertainment (fiction or non-fiction) will endure.
