I read a book a few years back (pretty sure it was a free/cheap e-book) and I can't find it anywhere and can't remember the author/title. I was hoping someone here may have also read it and help me out.

What I remember: The basic premise is that humans have become a nearly extinct minority on the planet, which is dominated by different clans of creatures that were sent here from different planets. The different clans, based on their descriptions and behaviors appear to be mythical creatures such as vampires, cyclops, etc. (they are referred to as different names) that have taken over the earth. There are flashbacks which show that the clans have actually been visiting the planet over the course of history (David vs Goliath was actually a fight between a human and Cyclops type creature, vampires visited during the age of dinosaurs, and others)

The story opens on the remnants of a battlefield and the human slave is on the battlefield mourning the death of her master, some sort of reptilian creature. The human is discovered by a faun-like being that are know as being scavengers.

One of the groups lives underground and has a holy relic (I think they call it an "egg" which, again based on it's description, etc., appears to be a nuclear bomb.

I know this isn't much to go on, but I was thinking about it and knew that if anyone could help, it would be the wonderful people here.
