...I read A Distant Mirror a few years ago and it was great. It's about the Dark Ages. I have The Proud Tower so I'll give that a go next.
And The Guns of August is also good, about the first month of WW1, at a time when it was very much a war of movement.
I don't actually think I've read The Proud Tower yet, come to think of it...
After AMOL, I'm looking for something new, so let me ask - What was the best book you read in 2012?
