The Secret History, while at times salacious, is quite tedious reading in other spots, and so I'm only halfway through. I stopped altogether and took a break after I got one third of the way through to read the Norwich history of Venice, which was an imposing book in its own right. Now I'm back to Procopius, tempering it with Burckhardt's Die Kultur der Renaissance in Italien, but today I'm wonderfully hung over and so I am not really reading much of anything.

I think I might have an interesting reading challenge for myself for this year, but I'm still not sure if I want to try it.
