I've just begun Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone. I actually read it around the time it first came out, and I may have started the second book, but I found the story to be too much of a children's story. I explained that to people over the years and they've all said that the tone changes. Now, it's been a while since the last book (and movie) came out, so I'm giving it another try.
There were book club discussions a while back that you may want to check out.
