Several people, including myself, received the first half of the book as an extended excerpt. I read it this past Friday and thought it was fairly good, although somewhat different in places than the Adams-penned books. I might have a full review up in the near future, but I can't say anything more than that.
The plot is entirely Colfer's own (i.e. none of it came from Adams's notes), right?
All I can say is that Adams' widow asked Colfer to write the sixth installment. Nothing in the materials I've received to date specifies anything else but that and if I receive anything else shortly, I wouldn't be allowed to tell you anyways

It is very difficult to get a full review copy of that novel.
