I've read her book on Muhammad snoopcester Send a noteboard - 28/08/2012 10:38:31 PM
The name coming to mind is Karen Armstrong, who has written a number of books on the Abrahamic religions - some books about all three of them, as well as books on each of the separate ones. I read some of them and thought they were interesting (on a science-for-a-larger-audience level, not specialized theology or history of religion) and not too blatantly biased, though I should add that this was easily eight years or more ago, so who knows what I'd think of them now.

And have got her book on the Bible to read.

While I thought the book on Muhammad was very readable, it seemed very sympathetic to me rather than being critical.

Robert Graves "There is no money in poetry, but then there is no poetry in money, either."

Henning Mankell "We must defend the open society, because if we start locking our doors, if we let fear decide, the person who committed the act of terror will win"

Hm, yes, I can see that... that she doesn't really dare to tackle controversies too much. - 28/08/2012 11:03:11 PM 756 Views
With respect to Islam, I prefer the Ibn Warraq edited ones. - 29/08/2012 02:13:25 AM 797 Views
