But int he story, Kvothe does make it clear he's a trouper and telling stories is what he does. In terms of plot, it makes perfect sense why it would all be overly troped.

And again, as everyone said, Rothfuss' style is very engaging. I can't wait for the last book and I'm actually about halfway through book 2 on my reread.
