I've been reading Tom Shippey's book on Tolkien and felt I should read the main books alongside. He had a lot of very interesting observations of the Hobbit, things I had not caught on to myself the last time I read it (many, many years ago).
I'll probably read more of Shippey's book this month.
And I've started Bill Bryson's Notes from a Small Island, which is so far quite a funny take on Britain. And I'm finishing Mostly Harmless these days (never was my favourite Hitch Hiker book. I am also almost done with The Perfect Spy. And I am reading The Blind Giant (Harkaway's non-fiction), which is interesting.
Edit: Oh, and I'm almost done with The Rule of Law by Tom Bingham, which is very good.
