Richard was certainly the book's weakest link, and I found the plot to be kind of meandering and dull in quite a few places. Basically, it was good simply because of Gaiman's ability to write very funny and entertaining books, and because I love and have always the idea of magical beings and things existing without our knowledge.
I'm rereading Neverwhere. It is NOT GOOD. How did I not realize this?
