I thought there was a book where he noticed a car following, and almost hitting him, and it was never explained, with him even wondering during the wrap-up at end who it had been, or else going along with a facile explanation that did not feel right in the context. It might have been Blood Rites, or White Night or one of the books in between them, I can't really recall.
