If you get a cookbook for those kind of monies, you'll probably wish to get the stuff so you can actually cook the food. Sounds really expensive.

I got the chance to take a good look at it at a friend's friend during the vacations (she's a chef).

It's really amazing, and the quality is outstanding. The "cook book" part is what seems to cater most to non-professionals, but it's not really worth it IMO (a great deal of them can't be done without specialized equipment, and quite a few are simply too over the top for home cooking). The "food and techniques" bible in the other volumes, however, is very very impressive, and from what I've seen, a lot of it can be applied to daily cooking.

Too bad they're not selling the volumes individually (and apparently, won't), or I might have bought the first four, little by little.
