You know, I don't remember being super amazed by anything.

I read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, which I liked, but didn't LOVE. It was entertaining. Interesting look at German occupation.
I did genuinely enjoy your Bone People though. I was somewhat disturbed by some points (beyond what was necessary, imo), and the end bothered me slightly, but it was overall a very intriguing and thought-provoking novel.
The Last Stand by Philbrick was really an eye-opening account of the Battle of the Little Bighorn. Sheesh. People are psychotic. I like naps and all, but probably not when Indians are trying to kill me.
Reading 2001: A Space Odyssey right now, and am finding it very addictive. I like it already, but am not far enough in to comment on content or resolution.
Love LotR as always.
...
Maybe I need some extraordinary recommendations. Oooor, John needs to get my Christmas presents out of the library room so that I can get in there!

As there are only two weeks left in 2011, how about you tell us your best reads for the year?

In Cold Blood was probably the best, Black Out/All Clear was pretty bad. *NM*
