but that is Renaissance Europe.
If you read French, Simone Bertière is good.
My French is both rusty and underpowered, so I can only get very general gists out of most things.
Is this Frances Yates fellow a good writer on Renaissance Europe?
Dame Frances Yates did a very interesting study of the Enlightenment and the occult traditions it drew on. I liked both The Occult Philosophy in the Elizabethan Age and The Rocicrucian Enlightenment (I think I reviewed the latter here, but I don't think anyone noticed). She rather changed the paradigm when it comes to how people talk about the movement from Middle Ages to Enlightenment.

Are you saying a woman can't be a fellow? That's awfully sexist of you.
