My mother read to us pretty much every night when we were children, that certainly helped... but she doesn't actually read all that much for her own pleasure. Once I hit the point that I could read by myself, I guess various teachers did more to encourage that than my mother did, though I don't remember any one of them as being so very influential.
Who helped instill a love of reading in you?
