I really enjoyed the first trilogy, but The Judging Eye was, to me, a massive drop in quality. Passed the book a few times at the library, but I really have no interest in continuing the series.
I was slightly disappointed in THE JUDGING EYE and didn't consider it the equal of any of the first three, but THE WHITE LUCK WARRIOR is easily Bakker's best novel to date. Many more of the elements that made the first three books so impressive.
What did you like about the first book Werthead? I actually enjoyed the philosophy and that sort of stuff, where I know many people didn't like the long philosophical discussions. So I thought the second was a decrease in quality as well though still LIGHT YEARS ahead of what others were doing.
Oh and no comment on my "bat signal"?
so the second aspect emperor book is out and we haven't heard anything about it here yet???
